About Solow
Founded in 2023, SOLOW started its rather unpredicted journey, from what was an idea between two friends talking on a random winter night becoming a reality.
Myself ( Mikey ) and Calbear ( Callum Gale ) were discussing about his idea to create a room for people struggling with mental health to have a place to talk and vent their problems, this led to me suggesting a car club linking with mental health to partner with his “room” idea, the name SOLOW was then suggested meaning, SO-LOW in which all car people could guess the meaning … Cars sat on their asses, but also it means So-Low as in mentally feeling low…​​​​​​​​​​​​

We decided to make a post, March 5th 7pm @ Bourne End industrial, we thought a few people might turn up and it would become something small and sweet… oh was I wrong, between 50-60 cars arrived and it was a start we never imagined!
The club then started becoming a regular local event, every first Sunday, same place, same time !
Then clothing started to develop, club stands became a thing, hosting coffee morning with other business, all the way to now having our own brand, website and trade stands !
It has become something I never could imagine, I say “I” because the man who started this all with me… is no longer here, Calbear passed away causing heartbreak across the car scene, he was the ‘as loved as a’ person could be, he was an icon in the car scene, the man that made everyone smile, losing him was the hardest thing that’s happened in my life, it made me want to give up but I always remember, Solow is as much his as it was mine so continuing is the best way for me to keep him with me and to make him proud.
Hannah ( the Daisy project ) stepped up early into the life of Solow and has been one of the biggest reasons it’s where it is today, you may know her from either her awesome bagged Ibiza, or the really well structured messages you get from the insta account.

With Hannah by my side, Calbear with me in spirit and the many other partners that Solow has made over it’s time, we hope to become a rising community for people to enjoy themselves, to feel free and comfortable at every one of our events.
​Members have expressed how much our club has helped them and it helps keep us going knowing what effect we have, Solow has become our life and what a good one it has been so far
