The R32 Build

This is Matt’s R32, a beautifully put-together example of Volkswagen’s iconic hot hatch, powered by the unmistakable 3.2 VR6. Sitting just right on a set of BBS RS alloys with a stepped-up dish, it strikes that perfect balance between OEM+ and full custom—subtle enough to respect its roots, but bold enough to turn heads wherever it goes. Open the door and you’re greeted by a striking red leather interior, paired with Recaro seats that look as good as they hold you in place. The contrast between the clean silver exterior and the deep red cabin gives the car real presence—refined, but with just enough attitude to remind you it’s not here to blend in. It’s the kind of car that makes you look back over your shoulder… probably more than once.

Underneath, the car is running air suspension, allowing Matt to dial in the stance perfectly—laid low when parked, yet still practical enough to enjoy on the road. Out back, the boot build is a proper showpiece, designed and crafted by Crown Customs. It’s neatly executed, tying everything together with a clean, high-end finish that complements the rest of the car. The addition of Vibe subwoofers doesn’t just add sound—it adds presence, turning the boot into both a visual and audio focal point. It’s one of those setups where you’re not quite sure whether to listen to it or just stand there admiring it… so naturally, you end up doing both.

Future Plans

Will be going for a colour change along with a smoothed bay.

Matt’s passion for cars doesn’t stop with his own build—he also runs a recovery service, currently 90% through rebuilding his truck with lowered cars in mind. As a car enthusiast himself, he understands the struggles that come with getting low cars from A to B without drama, and he takes genuine care in transporting them safely. It’s not just a job to him—it’s respect for the cars and the people who own them.
